How we help

We provide a range of free and confidential specialist services for people experiencing family violence in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Safety

Risk assessment and safety planning

We work with people to identify potential risks and create a plan to help ensure their safety.

Crisis accommodation or referral to secure refuge

We offer safe and secure short-term crisis accommodation for women and children needing to relocate for their safety.

Holistic case management

Our specialist family violence practitioners provide intensive case management, safety planning, emotional support, referrals and material aid to support women and children during the initial crisis.

Community outreach

We support people in the wider community experiencing family violence who are referred to us or contact us for assistance, by helping them live safely and independently in the community.

Support

Advice, information and emotional support

We provide information and assistance about matters including legal processes, intervention orders, court processes and child protection.

Specialist children’s assessment, support and school liaison

Our dedicated Child and Youth Practitioner assesses and identifies individual needs, creates an ongoing case plan, coordinates referrals and next steps, and partners with other services to make sure every child gets the support they need.

Links to additional support

We help with advocacy, referral and liaison with other appropriate services.

Transitional and ongoing housing support

When available we assist people with short-term transitional accommodation, and also assist people to find more stable, ongoing accommodation in the community.

Specialist LGBTIQA+ services

We provide crisis accommodation and specialist support, and also have strong connections with organisations focused specifically on working with the LGBTIQA+ community.

Secondary consultations for other professionals

Our team can partner with others working with people experiencing family violence, by providing specialist assessment and advice.

Education

Community education programs

Our support groups and therapeutic programs help people past the initial crisis settle back in the wider community and take steps for their long-term safety.

Activity programs

We offer a range of age-based activities for people staying in our crisis accommodation that boost wellbeing, including cooking classes, art sessions and craft.

Resources

We connect people with resources that help them identify family violence and access other services in the community.
