Education and learning are key to helping women move forward with their lives

For women who have been impacted by family violence, re-establishing a new life for themselves and their children is challenging. Whether it be a language barrier, lack of skills or simply getting around, it can be a difficult and seemingly impossible process. Experience shows us that access to further learning and education can play a key role in helping victim-survivors gain confidence, move back into the work force, and become part of the community again.

We need your help to provide further education to improve the lives of our clients

We would like to establish a fund that will cover the cost for women to enroll in educational opportunities. With your help the fund will provide opportunities for short courses in English language, life skills and skills to set up victim-survivors for employment or simply to help them navigate and communicate in the community. Types of further education for women: · Learn English – improve reading and language English skills

· Computer skills – learn basic skills to communicate and apply for jobs

· Get ready for work – training in the skills needed for a specific career area

· Get ready for study – preparation to get ready for long courses like “Aged care”

· Hospitality course – barista course, front of house, food handling etc.

· Get ready for retail work – short courses run by the retail association

Your donation will go directly to women and their children.
